For RLSS Team Wales, competing in the Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships 2023 in Canada was a dream come true, made possible through donations and contributions. We are proud to claim Simon Parker, the team’s coach as a At TrakCel colleague and as a result, we chose to support RLSS Team Wales on this adventure as our chosen charity for the year. The Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships 2023

The Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships, held every two years, brings together the best lifesavers from around the Commonwealth nations to compete in various events, showcasing their skills and dedication to water safety. The 2023 edition in Canada was a highly anticipated event, and RLSS Team Wales spent months training for this prestigious event.

A Helping Hand: Our Company’s Contribution

Recognizing the importance of this opportunity for the supporting local talent young people who have trained relentlessly, and work so hard on promoting water safety;, TrakCel wanted to help make their journey to Canada a reality. We understood that the financial burden of international travel could be a significant obstacle for these dedicated athletes and the team were keen to support them. We looked for little ways to help including donating the money from our tuck shop takings, small raffles and fundraisers and even using some of the budget that normally supports event merchandise to provide some co-branded kit for the team. All the little contributions added up and were kindly match funded by TrakCel in order to ease the burden on the team. We’re pleased to say that we managed to raise enough to offset the cost of two squad members.

This achievement marked a significant milestone for Team Wales, as it was the best performance by a Welsh team in over two decades. Their dedication to the sport and their relentless pursuit of excellence shone brightly throughout the competition.
