Cardiff, UK, October 6th, 2023 – TrakCel, the leading and proven provider of cellular orchestration systems to the global cell and gene therapy (CGT) industry, today announces the launch of the latest version of its lead next-generation platform, OCELLOS 5.0, and an accompanying online training portal. TrakCel has combined these newly launched resources to improve the long-term usability of the full OCELLOS suite.
With the launch of OCELLOS 5.0, TrakCel will internally trial new back-office functionality with a view to releasing it to customer administrators in future releases. This follows customer feedback indicating a desire for their admin users to have more admin and system management capability. The trial will give TrakCel support teams the ability to import new healthcare sites and system users in bulk, before opening up this ability to customer-based admin users. TrakCel support users will also trial the ability to modify and create new users with a “persona matrix” that reflects their specific, role related system permissions and access abilities.
Additionally, this update includes the ability to set rules so that the system can prevent a field from being edited after a specified event, for example, it could be set that shipment information cannot be edited after the shipment has been marked collected. This gives customers more control over their processes and their audit trail. The customer requested functionality of being able to specify a second signatory within a process has also been created. This Is critical to supporting some customer processes and offers the advantage that this secondary authorization Is captures within OCELLOS and timestamped within the audit trail.
TrakCel is also launching a new online Learning Management System, TrakCel LMS. This platform facilitates assessed, self-directed learning. TrakCel has designed the training platform for both OCELLOS users and customer administrators. The Intention Is to prevent skills drift within the OCELLOS user base and to assist customers in ensuring that user adoption Is high with minimal training and support costs. To complement this, further user support has also been introduced into OCELLOS 5.0, as customizable help text within the OCELLOS application has been integrated into more areas of the program, aiding system navigation.
“At TrakCel we pride ourselves on being responsive to customer and industry demands. This is an example of how quickly the product and support teams can react to feedback from our commercial customers looking to support user onboarding during aggressive scale-up.” said Paul Viggers, CCO, TrakCel. “To have reacted with both internal admin tools and a customizable learning platform that can deploy consistent training cost-effectively, within such a short space of time demonstrates a solution focused approach to innovation that crystalizes our approach as a company. With this update to OCELLOS, both the administrative functionality and the e-training platform deliver solutions to meet the latest requirements of the CGT sector. This is part of an ongoing effort by TrakCel to ensure it delivers value over the entire lifespan of its products as client’s needs evolve alongside their therapies.”
Both OCELLOS 5.0 and the accompanying online training portal will launch in October 2023. Administrative features will be trialed by the TrakCel managed service team before extending the update to customer-based administrators when this stage is completed.
